Witty, warm, passionate, and knowledgeable, the adult community at College Prep has been one of our strengths since our founding in 1960. We are an independent coeducational secondary school created for intellectual risk-takers who want to pursue a purposeful education with kindred peers. We prepare students for productive, ethical lives in college and beyond by fostering a stimulating education within an atmosphere of consideration, trust, and mutual responsibility.
Today, 360 students and 80 faculty and staff aspire to live by the motto our founder, Mary Harley Jenks, selected from Vergil: Mens Conscia Recti—a mind aware of what is right. We invite you to learn more about our mission and our commitment to an equitable community where everyone belongs. We look forward to meeting you.
College Prep is a community of lifelong learners. We encourage and support our faculty and staff in a variety of professional development endeavors, ranging from academic conferences, to collaborative curriculum innovation grants, to equity and inclusion workshops. At College Prep, we are eager to meet educators and other professionals who are interested in exploring teaching in independent high schools. If you would like to schedule a campus visit to meet with a senior administrator and observe a class, please tell us a bit more about yourself here. We look forward to introducing you to College Prep and talking about the rewards of a career in independent schools.
